A
Time to Heal: Protecting Children and Ministering
to Sex Offenders
by The Reverend Debra W. Haffner
I am pleased to tell you that my new book, "A
Time to Heal: Protecting Children and Ministering
to Sex Offenders" is now available
in print. The manual, adapted for Christian
and Jewish congregations, includes information
on child sexual abuse, how to educate adults
about sexual abuse prevention, how to keep
all children safe, and guidelines for involving
accused, convicted, and treated sex offenders.
It also includes model forms that can be adapted
by congregations. (The manual was first published
specifically for Unitarian Universalist publications
as an online publication, Balancing
Acts. The UUA graciously gave me permission
to adapt it into an interfaith version that
could be published by the Christian Community.)
A Time to Heal: Protecting Children and
Ministering to Sex Offenders is the
nation's first print resource on how faith
communities can assure the safety of children
and welcome persons with a history of sex offenses
into adult worship.
It is available for $12 plus postage and handling
from the Christian Community & LifeQuest
by calling 1-800-774-3360. Discount rates for
orders of 10 or more are available.
If you are interested in reviewing the publication
for your organization's newsletter, please
ask for a complimentary review copy when you
call.
I would appreciate any help you can offer getting
the word out about this publication to others.
Thank you!
PS. If you would like to receive the monthly
e-newsletter of the Religious Institute, and
are not yet receiving it, please email me and
I will add you to the list.
